Description: Providing compassionate care within all contexts of online remote working environs is central to the success of professional competence in professional practice. This must be clearly underpinned by compassionate communication and responsive approaches that promote and maximise on the principles of person-centred recovery. This course provides a conceptual framework to practice effective communication online by utilising knowledge and skills base practice to develop areas of professional competence. Participants will evaluate and apply effective communication and technology skills in the development of therapeutic relationships to enable them to undertake their professional role in client communication in a much more critically informed and reflective manner.


Understand the importance of effective interpersonal and compassionate online communication, to identify and critically evaluate their own personal strengths/weakness within their communication skill set for working remotely.


Develop self-awareness of how interpersonal communication is affected in relation to the individual's own attributes, the care setting, client/own circumstances thus building confidence for effective and compassionate communication.


Demonstrate how effective and compassionate communication skills can be used within popular platforms/software to underpin the helping relationship while maintaining safe professional boundaries within safeguarding protocols.


Understand the impact, effect and consequences of online interpersonal communication on engagement and assessment with the person and their family.
