Eligibility Criteria: This is awareness based (Level 1) and skills based (Level 2) Training for anyone meeting the criteria below, and who works with clients where ACEs are an issue. You must work for a Community & Voluntary Organisation to apply. If you are in another sector, contact The Safeguarding Board NI for details of upcoming training. If you work for a Surestart, Barnardos, Action for Children or NSPCC any upcoming training will be delivered in house, so please consult with your organisation if you want information on when this is happening, as we are unable to offer a place on this training Maximum of 2 Places per organisation due to fewer training places available, so please consult with your colleagues to agree on who applies.

Description: Level One & Two awareness and skills based course in Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma Informed Practice

Outcomes:

Level One:

Increased awareness of the potential impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on individuals and communities

Developed and enhanced understanding of the impact of Trauma and ACEs on the brain and possible subsequent behaviour

Increased knowledge of Emotional Health & Wellbeing and Support Pathways for staff and services users

Level Two:

An enhanced understanding of ACE related Trauma

Enhanced skills and confidence to use a Trauma Sensitive Lens in order to support and develop resilience for those with whom you work

Appreciation of the impact of secondary trauma; exploring ways to support the health & wellbeing of all staff including volunteers

Relevance: Relevant to anyone working with children and/or adults where ACEs may be affecting health/well-being
